Wakker Nederland
WNL is a broadcasting association which produces radio and television programmes within the framework of the Dutch public broadcasting system NPO. It was founded on 16 February 2009 as a right-wing conservative counterweight to a perceived leftist bias in Dutch public broadcasting, and its first programme was transmitted on 6 September 2010. Both WNL and PowNed have links to the media company Mediahuis Nederland (formerly Telegraaf Media Groep). The name was originally an abbreviation of ''Wakker Nederland'' ("Netherlands Awake"), but the association now officially refers to itself as simply WNL – although it says that this may be taken to represent ''Wij Nederland'' ("We, Netherlands"). Netherlands Public Broadcasting
(; abbreviated to NPO ; literally "Dutch Public Broadcaster") or Dutch Foundation for Public Broadcasting () is a Dutch public broadcasting organisation that administers public broadcasting services in the Netherlands. PowNed
PowNed is a Dutch broadcaster, which transmits radio and television programmes on the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. Each weekday evening it airs a satirical news show called ''PowNews'' on Nederland 3, in which politicians and other public and non-public figures are confronted with provocative questions, and often ridiculed. The broadcaster was affiliated with and was started up with the help of the popular GeenStijl shock blog. The director of PowNed is Dominique Weesie (who also presents ''PowNews'') and their star reporter is Rutger Castricum. Mediahuis is a newspaper & magazine publishing, distribution, printing, TV, radio and online media company founded in 2014 with assets in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Luxembourg and Germany. Mediahuis publishes daily newspaper titles in Belgium, the Netherlands and Ireland as well as regional titles, and is involved in broadcasting a number of Dutch and French language TV and radio stations. NPO 1
NPO 1 (''NPO een'', formerly Nederland 1 until 2014) is the first national television station in the Netherlands. It launched on 2 October 1951. It provides public broadcasting and currently exists next to sister channels NPO 2 and NPO 3. Nederlandse Omroep Stichting
The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. It has a special statutory obligation to make news and sports programmes for the three Dutch public television channels and the Dutch public radio services. It is funded by the Dutch government. The foundation's remit derives from the Dutch Media Act 2008, which stipulates that the NOS produce regular and frequent programming of a public service nature, including, notably, a full and impartial news service and coverage of parliamentary procedures and debates, as well as reporting on sporting and other national events. NPO 2
NPO 2 (''NPO twee'', formerly Nederland 2 until 2014) is a Dutch television channel, sister channel of NPO 1 and NPO 3. It was established on 1 October 1964 at 20:00, initially with a 2.5 hours schedule until 22:30. NPO 2 tends to broadcast arts, culture, politics, news, current affairs, documentaries and religious programmes. In the mornings, NPO 2 simulcasts NPO 1's news bulletins with sign language. NPO Radio 2
NPO Radio 2 is a public-service radio station from the Netherlands, broadcasting in an adult hits format, focusing on music from the 1980s to the 2010s and current hits, however 1960s and 1970s hits may also air. It is part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system, NPO. It can be compared with the BBC radio station of the same name. According to 2018 statistics, Radio 2 has a 12% audience market share, a number higher than any other station in the Netherlands, therefore, the commercial station Radio 538 was -except the annual Top 2000 period- the Dutch marketleader for the 14 past years.
