NPO Radio 2
NPO Radio 2 is a public-service radio station from the Netherlands, broadcasting in an adult hits format, focusing on music from the 1980s to the 2010s and current hits, however 1960s and 1970s hits may also air. It is part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system, NPO. It can be compared with the BBC radio station of the same name. According to 2018 statistics, Radio 2 has a 12% audience market share, a number higher than any other station in the Netherlands, therefore, the commercial station Radio 538 was -except the annual Top 2000 period- the Dutch marketleader for the 14 past years. Since 2019, NPO Radio 2 has been frequently the market share leader of all Dutch radiostations, however since the August - September 2021 it was passed by the commercial Qmusic in the audience 10 years and over. Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte (born 14 June 1974) is a Dutch television presenter, radio DJ and voice actor. He was one of the sidekicks in the radio show ''ruuddewild.nl'' presented by Ruud de Wild. Wouter van der Goes (born 18 January 1973, Alkmaar) is a Dutch radio DJ. At age twelve, he was tinkering with audio equipment as a hobby. Later, during his free time, he worked with several local radio stations, as well as pirate stations, while having a regular job as an insurance salesman. In 1995, Van der Goes is hired by Radio 538 and turns his hobby into a job. He has hosted several shows, such as ''Weekend Warming Up'', ''Peepshow'', ''After Dark'' and ''538 Classics''. Michiel Antonius Adrianus Beelen (born 25 May 1977 in Haarlem), better known as Giel Beelen, is a Dutch radio DJ and presenter, working primarily for public broadcaster VARA. Since 2004 Beelen hosted his own breakfast show ''GIEL!'' on national radio station 3FM. In 2014 Beelen achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest radio DJ marathon ever, lasting 198 hours of non-stop broadcasting, after having improved the world record for the longest duration continuous crowd surfing in 2011. PowNed is a Dutch broadcaster, which transmits radio and television programmes on the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. Each weekday evening it airs a satirical news show called ''PowNews'' on Nederland 3, in which politicians and other public and non-public figures are confronted with provocative questions, and often ridiculed. The broadcaster was affiliated with and was started up with the help of the popular GeenStijl shock blog. WNL is a broadcasting association which produces radio and television programmes within the framework of the Dutch public broadcasting system NPO. It was founded on 16 February 2009 as a right-wing conservative counterweight to a perceived leftist bias in Dutch public broadcasting, and its first programme was transmitted on 6 September 2010. Both WNL and PowNed have links to the media company Mediahuis Nederland (formerly Telegraaf Media Groep). The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. It has a special statutory obligation to make news and sports programmes for the three Dutch public television channels and the Dutch public radio services. It is funded by the Dutch government.
