Wakeman is a village in Huron County, Ohio, United States, along the Vermilion River. Its namesake was Jesup Wakeman, an early settler of Fairfield County, Connecticut, who was involved in western land speculation between 1800 and 1840. The population was 1,047 at the 2010 census. The Wakeman School
The Wakeman School and Arts College (formerly Shrewsbury Technical High School) was a co-educational comprehensive school located in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, England. The school was the only state secondary school in the town centre, located just to the east of the English Bridge. The school was awarded the ‘Artsmark Gold’ by Arts Council England, and a new ICT facility was completed during the summer holidays of 2008. In September 2008 the school was granted Specialist School status for Visual Art with Music and Drama in recognition of its particular strengths in these areas. The extra funding available was used to enhance and upgrade facilities for these subjects including setting up a state-of-the-art’ Multimedia Studio. In March 2011 inspection, Ofsted judged the school to be 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features. Wakeman Sound
Wakeman Sound is a sound on the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located in the area north of the Broughton Archipelago, which lies on the north side of Queen Charlotte Strait, on the northeast side of Broughton Island. It is a sidewater opening of and opening north off Kingcome Inlet. It is the traditional home of the Haxwa'mis, who are a part of the Kwakwakaʼwakw. The Haxwa'mis people amalgamated with the Kwikwasut'inuxw and are known as the Ḵwiḵwa̱sut'inux̱w Ha̱xwa'mis First Nation. The Wakeman River is a river in the western Pacific Ranges on the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada, flowing south into Wakeman Sound, which is a sidewater of Kingcome Inlet. Alalco Indian Reserve No. 8 is at the mouth of the river, on its west shore.
