Wafaa Abed Al Razzaq ( ar, وفاء عبد الرزاق) is an Iraqi poet and writer. She was born in 1952 in Basra, Iraq. She currently resides in London, UK, and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting. Amal Al Zahawi
Amal A. Al Zahawi (Arabic: آمال الزهاوي) (1946 – 13 February 2015) was an Iraqi poet and writer. She was born in Baghdad and graduated from the University of Baghdad. She published her works in various Arabic magazines and started her career in the sixties. Some of her poetry collections include "The Commando and The Beast" in 1969, "Those Who Venture Seas of Death" in 1970 and "A Circle in The Light, A Circle in The Dark" in 1975. Al Zahawi was an active writer in literature. She had also written many political articles for the Arabic press. Amal Al Zahawi died at the age of 71, after suffering a stroke in Baghdad. She was buried in Shuhadaa Al-Adhamiyah Cemetery in Baghdad. Lineage She is Amal Abdulqadir Saleh Muhammad Faydi Al-Zahawi. The poet's lineage goes back to the Al-Zahawi family, which is known both politically and literally in Iraq. Basra
Basra ( ar, ٱلْبَصْرَة, al-Baṣrah) is an Iraqi city located on the Shatt al-Arab. It had an estimated population of 1.4 million in 2018. Basra is also Iraq's main port, although it does not have deep water access, which is handled at the port of Umm Qasr. However, there is ongoing constuction of Grand Faw Port on the coast of Basra, which is considered a national project for Iraq and will become one of the largest ports in the world and the largest in the Middle East, in addition, the port will strengthen Iraq’s geopolitical position in the region and the world. Furthermore, Iraq is planning to establish large naval base in the Al-Faw peninsula, Faw peninsula. Historically, the city is one of the ports from which the fictional Sinbad the Sailor journeyed. Iraqi Art
Iraqi art is one of the richest art heritages in world and refers to all works of visual art originating from the geographical region of what is present day Iraq since ancient Mesopotamian periods. For centuries, the capital, Baghdad was the Medieval centre of the literary and artistic Arab world during the Abbasid Caliphate, in which Baghdad was the capital, but its artistic traditions suffered at the hands of the Mongol invaders in the 13th century. During other periods it has flourished, such as during the reign of Pir Budaq, or under Ottoman rule in the 16th century when Baghdad was known for its Ottoman miniature painting. In the 20th century, an art revival, which combined both tradition and modern techniques, produced many notable poets, painters and sculptors who contributed to the inventory of public artworks, especially in Baghdad. Josyane De Jesus-Bergey
Josyane de Jesus Bergey (born 1941) is a Franco/Portuguese poet. Biography Josyane de Jesus Bergey was born in La Rochelle, France in 1941. Retired from the civil services, she is the vice president of a French literary association, registered in La Rochelle under the name "Larochellivre". In this role, she organises literary meetings in the Charente Maritime as well as events such as "The Poets' Spring Time" and the "Salon of Poetry Works" in La Rochelle. Josyane de Jesus Bergey is a close friend of Jean Bouhier who founded the poetic movement of the school of Rochefort "l' Ecole de Rochefort” with Pierre Pernon in 1941 and, in 1991, she was the initiator of the foundation at Vesdun (Cher) of the "Forest of one thousand Poets" where the poets of 85 nations are represented by an oak tree.
