WWA World Minis Championship
The WWA World Minis Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha libre wrestling-based promotion the World Wrestling Association (WWA). The championship is exclusively competed for in the ''Mini-Estrellas'', or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism, as in North American Midget wrestling; it can also be very short wrestlers who work in the ''Mini-Estrellas'' division. The championship was created at some point before May 5, 2000 where Piratita Morgan successfully defended it against Octagoncito, but the actual creation date, or how Piratita Morgan became champion has not been documented. As it was a professional wrestling championship, the championship was not won not by actual competition, but by a scripted ending to a match determined by the bookers and match makers. Mascarita Sagrada (Spanish for Little Sacred Mask, real name not known, born January 11, 1965) is a Mexican Mini-Estrella, Mini Lucha libre, Luchador Wrestling mask, enmascarado (Spanish language, Spanish for Mini Masked Professional wrestling, wrestler) and one of the most well-known Mexican Minis of the modern era. The World Wrestling Association (WWA) (Asociación Mundial de Lucha Libre in Spanish) is a lucha libre promotion based in the Tijuana-area of Mexico. It was founded in 1986 by Benjamin Mora Jr.. It featured some of Mexico's best ''luchadores'' at the time, such as Rey Misterio Jr., La Parka and Juventud Guerrera, during the late 1980s and early 1990s and was also featured on American television via the Fox Sports en Español channel. The Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship (''Campeonato Nacional Mini-Estrella'' in Spanish), also referred to as the Mexican National Minis Championship, is an inactive professional wrestling championship sanctioned by ''Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F.'' (Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission). While the commission sanctioned the title, it did not promote the events at which the championship was defended. Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promoted the events and had the everyday control of the championship. Mascarita Dorada (Spanish: ''Little Golden Mask''; born February 19, 1982), is the ring name of a Mexican ''Luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler, who works in the ''Mini-Estrella'' division, comparable to midget wrestling. He is also known for his tenure with WWE under the ring name El Torito (Spanish for ''The Little Bull''). A house show or live event is a professional wrestling event produced by a major promotion that is not televised, though they can be recorded. Promotions use house shows mainly to cash in on the exposure that they and their wrestlers receive during televised events, as well as to test reactions to matches, wrestlers, and gimmicks that are being considered for the main televised programming and upcoming pay-per-views. House shows are entire events and not the same as dark matches—untelevised matches that occur as part of an event that was already being televised.
