WTA Austrian Open
The WTA Austrian Open is a WTA Tour affiliated women's tennis tournament held off and on from 1968. In the Open Era, seven locations hosted the event: Pörtschach in 1968 and 1999; Kitzbühel from 1969 to 1983 and from 1990 to 1993; Vienna in 1979 and from 2001 to 2004; Bregenz from 1985 to 1986; Maria Lankowitz from 1994 to 1998, Klagenfurt in 2000 and Bad Gastein from 2007 to 2015 where it took place as Nürnberger Gastein Ladies. The tournament which is held on outdoor clay courts was not contested in 1984, 1987 to 1989 and from 2005 to 2006. Four Austrians won the singles event: Judith Wiesner in 1995, Barbara Paulus in 1996, Barbara Schett in 1997 and 1999 and Yvonne Meusberger in 2013. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Patricia Wartusch (born 5 August 1978) is a former professional tennis player from Austria. She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 65 in 2000. Helga Niessen
Helga Niessen Masthoff (née Niessen; born 11 November 1941) is a retired tennis player from West Germany. Her best Grand Slam singles tournament was when she reached the 1970 French Open final, losing to Margaret Court in straight sets. She won the German Open three consecutive years from 1972 through 1974, beating Martina Navratilova in the 1974 final in three sets. Masthoff was the runner-up at that tournament in 1971, losing to Billie Jean King. Patricia Molly "Pat" Walkden-Pretorius (born 12 February 1946) is a former female tennis player from Rhodesia and South Africa. Judy Tegart Dalton (née Tegart; born 12 December 1937) is an Australian former professional tennis player. She won nine Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major doubles titles, and completed the Grand Slam (tennis)#Career Grand Slam, career Grand Slam in women's doubles. Elena Subirats Simon (30 December 1947 – 28 March 2018) was a Mexican professional tennis player. Raised in Mexico City, Subirats was a singles gold medalist for her country at the 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games and 1967 Pan American Games. Winnie Shaw
Winifred Mason Shaw (later Mrs. Wooldridge) (18 January 1947 – 30 March 1992) was a professional tennis player from Scotland whose career ran from the mid-1960s until the early 70s. Virginia Ruzici (born 31 January 1955) is a former professional tennis player from Romania. She won the 1978 French Open singles championship. Career Ruzici became a professional tennis player in 1975. One of her main assets on court was her powerful forehand. In a career spanning 12 years, Ruzici won 12 career singles titles, including one Grand Slam title, the 1978 French Open. In the final, she beat 1977 French Open champion Mima Jaušovec 6–2, 6–2.
