World Series of Fighting 21: Palmer vs. Horodecki was a mixed martial arts event held on in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This event aired on NBCSN in the U.S and on Fight Network in Canada. Background The main event was originally scheduled to feature a middleweight fight between Yushin Okami and WSOF Canadian Welterweight Champion Ryan Ford. However, Ford was forced out of the bout due to an injury and the pairing was scrapped. The main event was then changed to a WSOF Featherweight Championship fight between champion Lance Palmer and WEC & Bellator MMA veteran Chris Horodecki. The co-main event featured a WSOF Heavyweight Championship fight between champion Smealinho Rama and Bellator MMA veteran Blagoy Ivanov. The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by Venture capital, venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. Hakeem Tyrone Dawodu (born July 2, 1991) is a Canadian mixed martial artist, currently signed to Ultimate Fighting Championship and fights in the Featherweight division. He previously competed for the World Series of Fighting. Early life Dawodu was born in Calgary to a mother from Nigeria and a father from Jamaica. Lance Palmer (born February 7, 1987) is an American professional mixed martial artist and former collegiate wrestler. He currently competes in the featherweight division of Professional Fighters League, where he is the 2019's tournament champion. As a folkstyle wrestler, he was a four-time NCAA Division I All-American and four-time OHSAA state champion. Blagoy Ivanov ( bg, Благой Александров Иванов; born October 9, 1986) is a Bulgarian mixed martial artist and Sambo practitioner. He is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he competes in the Heavyweight division. Christopher Horodecki (born September 24, 1987) is a Polish-Canadian mixed martial artist. He has competed for the WEC, the IFL, Bellator, TKO Major League MMA, and Palace Fighting Championship.
