WBBM (780 kHz) – branded ''Newsradio 105.9 WBBM'' – is a commercial all-news AM radio station licensed to serve Chicago, Illinois. Owned by Audacy, Inc., its studios are located at Two Prudential Plaza in the Chicago Loop, while the station transmitter— diplexed with sister station WSCR—resides in the nearby suburb of Bloomingdale. WBBM is a Class A station that broadcasts on a clear-channel AM frequency, powered with 35,000 watts by day and 42,000 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna. Chicago Cubs Radio Network
The Chicago Cubs Radio Network comprises 30 stations in six states. Pat Hughes has been the play-by-play announcer since 1996. From 1996 to 2010, Hughes was partnered with Ron Santo. After Santo's death, Keith Moreland took over as color analyst, lasting three seasons (2011–13). Ron Coomer became the color analyst in 2014. Zach Zaidman handles the ''Cubs Central'' pre- and post-game shows, and takes over the play-by-play for the fifth inning of most games. All 162 regular season baseball games, some spring training games, and all postseason games are broadcast by the network, though not all affiliates distribute the entire slate. Matt Spiegel
Matt Spiegel (born September 15, 1970) is a sports talk show host and singer based in Chicago. He served as a host on The Score SportsRadio 670 off and on since 2009. As of 2022, he is the current drive time host with Danny Parkins and hosts the Sunday morning seasonal baseball show "Hit & Run". Matt has never considered editing his own Wiki page. He has also serves as a fill-in broadcaster on the Chicago Cubs Radio Network. Personal Spiegel grew up in New Jersey as the youngest of five children. He studied broadcasting at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where he won several sportscasting awards. He enjoyed internships at MLB Productions working on This Week in Baseball, and at WBZ-TV in Boston, working Bob Lobel and Bob Neumeier. Throughout the 90s, Spiegel was a producer, reporter, and talk show host at The Score SportsRadio 670 in Chicago, and was also a disc jockey for WXRT-FM. WUSN (99.5 FM) is a country radio station in Chicago, Illinois. Owned by Audacy, Inc. and branded as "US✶99", it is based at Two Prudential Plaza in the Loop, and transmits from atop the John Hancock Center with an HD Radio signal. History Founding and classical music era The station began broadcasting on February 2, 1940, as experimental station W9XEN, licensed to Chicago-based radio/television manufacturer Zenith Radio Corporation. In May 1940, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced the establishment, effective January 1, 1941, of an FM radio band operating on 40 channels spanning 42–50 MHz. David Haugh
David Haugh (born May 22, 1968) is an American columnist, radio, and television personality. Haugh worked with the Chicago Tribune from 2002 to 2020, serving as the primary Chicago Bears columnist since 2009. In July 2018, Haugh replaced Brian Hanley as the host of ''Mully & Hanley'' on WSCR. He joined retained host Mike Mulligan on the newly branded ''Mully & Haugh''. Education Haugh was raised in North Judson, Indiana. He obtained his degree from Ball State University, where he played football and was an All-Mid-American Conference safety and Academic All-American. He later received his master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
