WRU Division One North
The Welsh Rugby Union Division One North (also called the SWALEC Division One North for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales first implemented for the 1995/96 season. The league was known as Division Four North before the 2008-09 season. Division One North, Two North and Three North are self-contained leagues within the larger Swalec leagues, and clubs can not be promoted to or demoted from the two leagues. Competition format and sponsorship Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division One North. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to April) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 22 games for each club, with a total of 132 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two point for a draw, an additional bonus point is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. Mold RFC
Mold Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Mold, North Wales. They presently play in the Welsh Rugby Union Division Two North League. Mold Rugby Club is a members' run club. They are based at their Chester Road Ground, within 1/4 mile of Mold town centre. There are currently over 500 playing and non-playing members varying in all ages from aspiring internationals aged as young as 6, through to life members. Llangefni RFC is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union. History The club was formed in February 1972 through the efforts of Trefor Jones and Vernon Gwyr. Home games were played at the local comprehensive school and training sessions were held in the school gymnasium. Over the next few seasons the club expanded and made their first trip to Scotland to play Rosyth Civil Service in February 1973. By the season 1973–74, the club were fielding two sides. History The first record of a match played in Colwyn Bay took place on the Rhos Preparatory School ground on New Year’s Day, 1923, when the opponents were a Chester XV. There were frequent changes in playing locations and changing rooms and consequently the game did not prosper after the promising start of the first few seasons.
