WENK
WENK is an AM broadcasting, AM radio station based in northwest Tennessee. In its first incarnation, WENK-AM 1240 AM, 1240 went on the air with 250 watts day and night from the upstairs of a furniture store on October 26, 1946. WTPR-AM 710 AM, 710 went on the air with 250 watts daytime from the second floor of a building on the square in downtown Paris, Tennessee, Paris in 1947. Both were owned by the Dixie Network of Jackson, Tennessee. and had at the time a variety format. WENK featured the talents of people like Hank Huggins and Lou Wrather during the early days. WTPR was home to future Nashville star Ralph Emery and future WPSD-TV newsman Dan Steele. WENK caught the Rock and Roll bug in 1956 and for the most part remained a popular music or Top 40 station until WWGY (FM), WWKF took that format in 1982. McKenzie, Tennessee
McKenzie is a city at the tripoint of Carroll, Henry, and Weakley counties in Tennessee, United States. The population was 5,310 at the 2010 census. Paris, Tennessee
Paris is a city in and the county seat of Henry County, Tennessee, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 10,316. A replica of the Eiffel Tower stands in the southern part of Paris. History The present site of Paris was selected by five commissioners appointed to the task of choosing a county seat at the December 1822 session of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Henry County. Their choice was a site, of which were owned by Joseph Blythe and owned by Peter Ruff; both men donated the land to the county to have the seat there. A public square, streets, alleys, and 104 lots were laid off, and the lots were sold at auction over a two-day period in either March or April 1823. Paris was incorporated on September 30, 1823. It is mainly featured in the Southern United States, and mainly targets Southerners. , ''The Ace & TJ Show'' began broadcasting as the morning show on WHQC ("Channel 96-1"). Ace & TJ were previously on Charlotte's WNKS ("Kiss 95.1"), where the show debuted on April 6, 1998.
