WHNY-FM broadcasts a country music format. The station was assigned the WMUF-FM call sign by the Federal Communications Commission on June 1, 1998 in radio, 1998. On September 20, 2010, the station changed its call sign to WRQR, and again on October 8, 2011, to WMUF. On July 1, 2019, the station changed its call sign to WHNY, and then to WHNY-FM on December 23, 2019. WENK is an AM broadcasting, AM radio station based in northwest Tennessee. In its first incarnation, WENK-AM 1240 AM, 1240 went on the air with 250 watts day and night from the upstairs of a furniture store on October 26, 1946. WTPR-AM 710 AM, 710 went on the air with 250 watts daytime from the second floor of a building on the square in downtown Paris, Tennessee, Paris in 1947. Both were owned by the Dixie Network of Jackson, Tennessee. and had at the time a variety format. WENK featured the talents of people like Hank Huggins and Lou Wrather during the early days. WTPR was home to future Nashville star Ralph Emery and future WPSD-TV newsman Dan Steele. Paris is a city in and the county seat of Henry County, Tennessee, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 10,316. A replica of the Eiffel Tower stands in the southern part of Paris. History The present site of Paris was selected by five commissioners appointed to the task of choosing a county seat at the December 1822 session of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Henry County. Their choice was a site, of which were owned by Joseph Blythe and owned by Peter Ruff; both men donated the land to the county to have the seat there. Henry is a town in Henry County, Tennessee. The population was 520 at the 2000 census and 464 at the 2010 census, showing decline of 56. Gospel singer Bobby Jones was born here. Geography Henry is located in southwestern Henry County at (36.202197, -88.418208).
