WQTX (92.1 FM, "Stacks 92.1) is a radio station broadcasting a Rhythmic Adult Contemporary format to the Lansing, Michigan radio market. Licensed to St. Johns, Michigan, it first began broadcasting in 1972, and has been through a number of different calls and formats during its history. History 92.1 FM was originally WRBJ-FM, and, in a simulcast with WRBJ (1580 AM, now WWSJ), served St. Johns and Clinton County as a full-service local station. Original owner Robert Ditmer sold WRBJ-AM-FM in 1981 and changed both stations to a country simulcast as WQTK-AM-FM, the first of many identity changes over the next twenty years for the AM 1580 frequency. The calls eventually became WKLH-FM, continuing with a country format as "K-92", until Labor Day, 1985, when WKLH-FM became WLNZ, "The Lazer", with a rock format (the "lazer" part of the positioning referring to the station's being the first in the Lansing market to play music from compact discs). WLMI
WLMI is a radio station licensed to Grand Ledge, Michigan, serving Lansing. Owned by Midwest Communications, it broadcasts a classic hits format branded as ''Cruisin 92.9''. History What is now WLMI began life as WCER-FM in Charlotte, Michigan, in 1963. The station was co-owned with WCER (1390 AM, now Christian-formatted WLCM). On July 1, 1979, WCER-FM changed its calls to WMMQ, and on September 1 of that year, WMMQ separated programming from its AM sister and aired an adult contemporary/sports format as ''Q92''. WWDK ("94.1 Duke FM"') is a radio station broadcasting a classic country format. Licensed to Jackson, Michigan, it first began broadcasting on July 14, 1958 as WMKZ-FM. The station broadcasts from a tower near Springport, Michigan. Midwest Communications is a Wausau, Wisconsin-based radio broadcasting company. WDBM (88.9 FM), East Lansing, Michigan, United States, branded Impact 88.9, is a 2,000 watt, Class A, student-run college radio station at Michigan State University that broadcasts to listeners in the Lansing metropolitan area. The signal can be heard as far south as Jackson, Michigan, southeast almost to Brighton, and north to Alma, far beyond its 60 dBu service contour which represents its clearest signal. The station is the successor to the Michigan State Network, which in the 1970s was the nation's largest college carrier current radio network, and had studios in several MSU dormitories. The network was eventually consolidated to one carrier current station, WLFT ("Tune to the Left"), which broadcast from the former WKAR studios on the third floor of the MSU Auditorium Building. WJIM-FM (97.5 FM, "975 Now FM") is a radio station in Lansing, Michigan, broadcasting an adult leaning Top 40 (CHR) format. The station has had the WJIM-FM calls continuously since it signed on in 1960. For over three decades, WJIM-FM broadcast an easy listening/beautiful music format, which evolved during the early 1990s into a soft adult contemporary sound. On Labor Day in 1995, WJIM-FM switched from AC to "Oldies 97.5." The change came days after WIBM dropped its longtime oldies format in favor of country to compete with WITL-FM. The station's "good times and great oldies" format was very popular in Lansing for over a decade, with the station consistently rated in the top ten (and frequently the top five) 12+ in the Arbitron ratings.
