WOLF (1490 AM) is a sports formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Syracuse, New York, serving the Syracuse metropolitan area. The station is 100% owned by Craig Fox, who also owns several other radio and low-power TV stations in the state of New York. The WOLF broadcast license is held by WOLF Radio, Inc. The station is also simulcast on FM translator W223CP at 92.5 FM and WOSW (1300 AM) and W253BZ at 98.5 FM, Fulton, NY. Richard Wagstaff Clark (November 30, 1929April 18, 2012) was an American radio and television personality, television producer and film actor, as well as a cultural icon who remains best known for hosting ''American Bandstand'' from 1956 to 1989. He also hosted five incarnations of the Pyramid (game show), ''Pyramid'' game show from 1973 to 1988 and ''Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'', which transmitted New Year's Eve celebrations in New York City's Times Square. As host of ''American Bandstand'', Clark introduced rock & roll to many Americans. Bob Shannon (radio Personality)
Don Bombard (born December 16, 1948), known professionally as Bob Shannon, is an American radio disc jockey best known for his work on WCBS-FM in New York City. He is also the author of the book ''Behind The Hits: Inside Stories of Classic Pop and Rock and Roll''. He has a son, Scott (no relation to current WCBS-FM morning DJ Scott Shannon), and a daughter, Avery. Early life Don Bombard was first introduced on radio by future sportscaster Marv Albert, then a Disc Jockey on WOLF (AM), in May of 1962 as the winner of a guest deejay contest while still a junior high school student over in his hometown of Syracuse, New York. Marv Albert (born Marvin Philip Aufrichtig; June 12, 1941) is an American retired sportscaster. Honored for his work as a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, he was commonly referred to as "the voice of basketball". From 1967 to 2004, he was also known as "the voice of the New York Knicks". Albert worked for Turner Sports as the lead announcer for NBA games on TNT until his retirement at the end of the 2020–21 season. Dale Dorman
Dale Dorman (September 2, 1943 – October 21, 2014) was an American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame radio disc jockey on WODS in Boston. Until September 15, 2008, he hosted ''The Breakfast Club with Dale Dorman'' weekday mornings from 5:30-9 AM. Dorman finished his career as a weekend personality with the station. "Uncle Dale" was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2010. Bud Ballou
Dudley "Bud" Ballou (December 11, 1942 – April 15, 1977) was an American disc jockey and radio personality active for fifteen years on several commercial radio stations during the 1960s and 1970s. Ballou was born and raised in Liverpool, New York, a suburb of Syracuse. His father was Leslie G. Ballou, and he had a brother, James. After a stint as an electronics technician at Western Electric in Syracuse, Ballou began his radio career as disc jockey at WOLF in 1962. With Ballou's help WOLF enjoyed a majority share of Syracuse radio listeners in 1963 and 1964. In 1964 he moved to WNDR radio.
