WLVE (105.3 FM) is a radio station in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. The station is owned by EMF Broadcasting and began airing the K-Love contemporary Christian (CCM) format on February 15, 2008. WLVE's Milwaukee offices and studios are located near the Wisconsin State Fair Park. History WFZH went on the air November 22, 2001 with a temporary all-Christmas music format. WMIA-FM (93.9 MHz) is a hot adult contemporary radio station that is licensed to Miami Beach, Florida. The station is owned and operated by iHeartMedia. Its studios are located in Miramar, and the transmitter site is in Miami Gardens. History Early years 93.9 FM signed on the air December 1, 1948, as WLRD, the first standalone FM station in Miami. WXVA is owned and operated by Winchester Radio Broadcasters, LLC. History Edwin Fisher's Shenval Broadcasting Corporation signed on WHPL on January 27, 1961. Mukwonago is a village in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 8,262 at the 2020 census. The village is located mostly within the Town of Mukwonago in Waukesha County, with a small portion extending into the Town of East Troy in Walworth County. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. In order to save time, two-letter identifiers were adopted for this purpose.
