WLLC-LD (channel 42) is a low-power television station in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with Univision and UniMás. Owned by JKB Associates, Inc., its transmitter is located atop the Life & Casualty Tower in Nashville's Capitol District. History The station signed on the air with the call sign W59AW on channel 59 on November 7, 1996, and carried programming from America One 24 hours a day. The next year, the station moved to channel 52 and changed its call sign to W52CT. In 2004, it moved to channel 42 and changed its call sign to W42CR. The station also dropped the America One affiliation and became an affiliate of the new Spanish-language network TeleFutura. The station changed its call sign again that same year to WLLC-LP. WSMV-TV (channel 4) is a television station in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Gray Television alongside low-power Telemundo affiliate WTNX-LD (channel 15). The two stations share studios on Knob Road in west Nashville, where WSMV-TV's transmitter is also located. History Early years WSMV first signed on the air as WSM-TV on September 30, 1950, at 1:10 p.m. CT. It was Nashville's first television station and the second in Tennessee, behind fellow NBC affiliate WMCT (now sister station WMC-TV, then also on channel 4) in Memphis. As a result of the WSM-TV sign-on, WMCT was forced to switch to channel 5 to avoid co-channel interference. WTVF (channel 5) is a television station in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside Ion Television owned-and-operated station WNPX-TV (channel 28). WTVF's studios are located on James Robertson Parkway in downtown Nashville, and its transmitter is located north of downtown along I-24 near Whites Creek. History WTVF first signed on the air August 6, 1954, as WLAC-TV, originally owned by the Life and Casualty Insurance Company, and Nashville businessmen Guilford Dudley, Al Beaman and Thomas Baker. The Nashville Network
The Nashville Network, usually referred to as TNN, was an American country music-oriented cable television network. Programming included music videos, taped concerts, movies, game shows, syndicated programs, and numerous talk shows. On September 25, 2000, after an attempt to attract younger viewers failed, TNN's country music format was changed and the network was renamed '' The National Network'', eventually becoming Spike TV in 2003 and Paramount Network in 2018.
