WHUA-LP
WHUA-LP, UHF analog channel 44, was a low-powered Youtoo America- affiliated television station licensed to Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. Founded on July 29, 1988 as W39AW, the station was owned by Ying Hua Benns. The station's lineup consisted of syndicated programs, special interest programs and local news. W39AW changed its callsign to WYHB-LP in 1995; on January 11 of that year, they affiliated with The WB. In 1999, WB programing moved to WFLI-TV (channel 53) on a secondary basis until 2001 when UPN programming was picked up by WYHB-LP. From that point on until May 1, 2006, the station was an affiliate of Urban America Television, when that network folded due to economic problems. After that, the station became an affiliate of America One and later Youtoo America (now YTA TV) when the former network merged with Youtoo TV in 2015. Urban America Television
Urban America Television (UATV) was an over-the-air television broadcast network in the United States targeted towards Black Americans. According to the company's website, the network had 70 affiliate stations. UATV claimed to have had a reach of 22 million households in the United States. It was a successor to the earlier American Independent Television network and began broadcasting December 3, 2001. Created and developed by Fred Hutton (among others) the early programming featured independent produced programs, along with 1930s and 1940s public domain race films. The company was the only minority-certified television network with the National Minority Supplier Development Council. WDEF-TV (channel 12) is a television station in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with CBS. Owned by Morris Multimedia, the station maintains studios on Broad Street in Chattanooga and a transmitter in nearby Signal Mountain. Although parts of the Chattanooga market are in the Central Time Zone, all schedules are listed in Eastern Time. History The station signed on the air on April 25, 1954, carrying programming from all four networks, though it has always been a primary CBS affiliate. It took the CBS affiliation from WROM-TV (channel 9, now WTVC). It lost NBC to WRGP-TV (now WRCB-TV) in 1956, and lost ABC to WTVC (the former WROM) in 1958. WFLI-TV (channel 53) is a television station licensed to Cleveland, Tennessee, United States, serving the Chattanooga area as an affiliate of The CW and MyNetworkTV. It is owned by MPS Media, which maintains a local marketing agreement (LMA) with New Age Media, owner of True Crime Network/Comet affiliate WDSI-TV (channel 61), for the provision of certain services. The WB Television Network
The WB Television Network (for Warner Bros., or the "Frog Network", for its former mascot, Michigan J. Frog) was an American television network launched on broadcast television on January 11, 1995, as a joint venture between the Warner Bros. Entertainment division of Time Warner and the Tribune Broadcasting subsidiary of the Tribune Company, with the former acting as controlling partner. The network aired programs targeting teenagers and young adults between 12 and 34, with its children's division, Kids' WB, geared toward children 6 to 12.
