A professional wrestling promotion is a company or business that regularly performs shows involving professional wrestling that has little relationship to the rules of the amateur olympic form. "Promotion" also describes a role which entails management, advertising and logistics of running a wrestling event (''see promoter''). Within the convention of the show, the company is a sports governing body which sanctions wrestling matches and gives authority to the championships and is responsible for maintaining the divisions and their rankings. Tony Condello
Tony Condello (born August 8, 1942) is an Italian retired professional wrestler and promoter most known for founding International Wrestling Alliance in Manitoba, Canada. Professional wrestling career Early career Tony Condello began his career in professional wrestling in 1958. He wrestled throughout Manitoba for several years, winning tag team titles on multiple occasions as one half the duo known as "The Flying Italians" with his partner Guy Vinci. After the local wrestling club was purchased by the American Wrestling Association, Condello turned to promoting in order to pave the way for Canadian wrestlers to have a home. Fred Peloquin (born November 1, 1939 in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Canada), is a retired professional wrestler best known as for his work in the International Wrestling Alliance as Puppy Dog Peloquin. Professional wrestling career Early career Peloquin began his career in professional wrestling in 1971. He received training from Canadian wrestler/promoter Tony Condello. From 1980-81, Peloquin worked as an enhancement talent for the American Wrestling Association. Robert Harold Brown (October 16, 1938 – February 5, 1997) was a Canadian professional wrestler, better known by his ring name "Bulldog" Bob Brown. Early life Brown was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba, but grew up in the St. James-Assiniboia area of Winnipeg. He was given the nickname "Bulldog" in grade school.
