Fred Peloquin
Fred Peloquin (born November 1, 1939 in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Canada), is a retired professional wrestler best known as for his work in the International Wrestling Alliance as Puppy Dog Peloquin. Professional wrestling career Early career Peloquin began his career in professional wrestling in 1971. He received training from Canadian wrestler/promoter Tony Condello. From 1980-81, Peloquin worked as an enhancement talent for the American Wrestling Association. West Four Wrestling Alliance Peloquin wrestled in Condello's promotion West Four Wrestling Alliance, which would later be known as the International Wrestling Alliance. While there, he managed to win the company's premiere title, the WFWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship. Tony Condello
Tony Condello (born August 8, 1942) is an Italian retired professional wrestler and promoter most known for founding International Wrestling Alliance in Manitoba, Canada. Professional wrestling career Early career Tony Condello began his career in professional wrestling in 1958. He wrestled throughout Manitoba for several years, winning tag team titles on multiple occasions as one half the duo known as "The Flying Italians" with his partner Guy Vinci. After the local wrestling club was purchased by the American Wrestling Association, Condello turned to promoting in order to pave the way for Canadian wrestlers to have a home. Stewart Edward Hart (May 3, 1915 – October 16, 2003) was a Canadian amateur and professional wrestler, wrestling booker, promoter, coach, trainer, football player and sailor. He is best known for founding and handling Stampede Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion based in Calgary, Alberta, teaching many individuals at its associated wrestling school " The Dungeon" and establishing a professional wrestling dynasty consisting of his relatives and close trainees. As the patriarch of the Hart wrestling family, Hart is the ancestor of many wrestlers, most notably being the father of Bret and Owen Hart as well as the grandfather of Natalya Neidhart, Teddy Hart and David Hart Smith. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. Job (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling slang, a job is a losing performance in a wrestling match. It is derived from the euphemism "doing one's job", which was employed to protect information related to kayfabe from being revealed. The term can be used a number of ways. When a wrestler is booked to lose a match, it is described as "a job". The act itself is described with the verb jobbing, while the act of booking (rather than being booked) to job is called jobbing out. To lose a match fairly (meaning without any kayfabe rules being broken) is to job cleanly. Wrestlers who routinely (or exclusively) lose matches are known as jobbers or "dummy wrestlers". A regular jobber skilled at enhancing the matches they lose, as opposed to a mediocre local rookie or part-timer, is called a carpenter. The American Wrestling Association (AWA) was an American professional wrestling promotion based in Minneapolis, Minnesota that ran from 1960 until 1991. It was owned and founded by Verne Gagne and Wally Karbo. The territory was originally part of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), becoming an independent territory in 1960. History Early years Anton Stecher, brother and manager of former World heavyweight champion Joe Stecher, was a founding member of the NWA in 1948 and had promoted wrestling in Minneapolis since 1933 through his Minneapolis Boxing and Wrestling Club. Stampede Wrestling was a Canadian professional wrestling promotion based in Calgary, Alberta. For nearly 50 years, it was one of the main promotions in western Canada and the Canadian Prairies. Originally established by Stu Hart in 1948, the promotion competed with other promotions such as NWA All-Star Wrestling and Pacific Northwest Wrestling and regularly ran events in Calgary's Victoria Pavilion, Ogden Auditorium and the Stampede Corral between 1948 and 1984.
