WFCA (107.9 FM), known as "FM108", is a Southern Gospel music radio station based in French Camp, Mississippi, United States. WFCA serves Central Mississippi with an ERP of 100,000 Watts. The non-profit station, owned by French Camp Academy, is located along mile marker 181 of the Natchez Trace Parkway in French Camp. Cities in WFCA's primary coverage area include Starkville, Winona, Louisville, Kosciusko, and Greenwood, Mississippi. French Camp, Mississippi
French Camp is a town in Choctaw County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 174 at the 2010 census, down from 393 in 2000. History The town dates back to circa 1810, when a Frenchman, Louis Lefleur, established a stand or trading post and inn, on the Natchez Trace. The Choctaw natives and others in the area called it the Frenchman's Camp. Later it was shortened to French Camp. Geography French Camp is located in western Choctaw County at (33.293936, -89.400248). It is bordered to the south by Attala County. The Natchez Trace Parkway passes through the town, crossing Mississippi Highway 413 just west of the center of town. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which , or 0.81%, is water. Louisville, Mississippi
Louisville (pronounced LEW-iss-vill) is a city in Winston County, Mississippi. The population was 6,631 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Winston County. History Like Winston County, Louisville is named for Louis Winston (1784–1824), a colonel in the militia, a prominent lawyer, and a judge of the Mississippi Supreme Court. In 1863 Union Colonel Benjamin Grierson marched 900 troops through Louisville during his raid through Mississippi. There was no fighting in Winston County. In 1927, a mob of 1,000 white men from Louisville, lynched two African-Americans, Jim and Mark Fox by wrapping them in barbed wire and setting them on fire. Aliceville is a city in Pickens County, Alabama, United States, located thirty-six miles west of Tuscaloosa. At the 2010 census its population was 2,486, down from 2,567 in 2000. Tupelo () is a city in and the county seat of Lee County, Mississippi, United States. Kosciusko is a city in Attala County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 7,402 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Attala County. History Shortly before the War of 1812, David Choate, a French trader along with his wife, a Choctaw, opened the Choate Stand, an inn along the Natchez Trace. They chose a location near the intersection of the trace and a cross path that led to the Creek Indian Nation, where there was a natural spring to provide fresh water, at the approximate location of the current town square. Journals from the war of 1812 indicate that Andrew Jackson received supplies at Choate Stand. In 1850, the Choate family was forcibly removed to Indian Territory in Oklahoma by the Indian Removal Act, signed by Andrew Jackson.
