The WCT Tallinn Mens Challenger, also known as the Tallinn Mens International Challenger, and the Tallinn Season Starter is an annual tournament on the men's World Curling Tour. It is held annually on the last weekend of September at the Tondiraba Ice Hall The Tondiraba Ice Hall ( et, Tondiraba jäähall), is a multi-purpose indoor arena complex in Tallinn, Estonia. World Curling Tour
The World Curling Tour (WCT) is a group of curling bonspiels featuring the best male, female, and mixed doubles curlers in the world. History The World Curling Tour was founded by former World Champion Ed Lukowich, with later assistance from John Kawaja. The World Curling Tour commenced in 1992, with men's events only at first. It replaced the "Canadian Curling Tour" held the previous season. The first season consisted of 48 events (with only one outside Canada), and was sponsored by Seagram's distillery. Teams earned points in every event with the top 30 qualifying for the season ending " V.O. Cup", today known as the Players' Championship. Its first president and CEO was Lukowich. The first two events were held on the first weekend of October 1992, the Red Carpet Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan and a qualifier for the Coca-Cola Classic in Winnipeg. Teemu Salo (born 11 February 1974) is a Finnish curler from Hyvinkää. He has played lead position for Markku Uusipaavalniemi since 2002. Kalle Kiiskinen (born 6 September 1975 in Hyvinkää) is a Finnish curler. In Juniors, Kiiskinen played for Perttu Piilo and won a silver medal as his third at the 1997 World Junior Curling Championships. Kiiskinen then joined up with Uusipaavalniemi, playing in his first World Curling Championships in 2002. He has played both second and third for Uusipaavalniemi. Marco Hösli
Marco Hösli (born 15 May 2000) is a Swiss curler from Ennenda. He is a two-time World Junior silver medallist. Career Juniors Hösli skipped Team Switzerland, which also included Philipp Hösli, Marco Hefti and Jannis Spiess at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships. There, he led Switzerland to a 6–3 round robin record. This put them into the playoffs, where they had to play the undefeated Scotland team, skipped by Ross Whyte in the semifinal. Switzerland upset the Scots, putting them into the final against Canada, skipped by Tyler Tardi. Canada beat Switzerland, forcing Hösli and his rink to settle for silver. The next season, Hösli played for Team Switzerland at the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships, starting the event as the alternate on the team, which was originally skipped by Yves Wagenseil.
