Beginning in 2001, 105.5 was the home of WVKF, a CHR/Top 40 station under the Kiss-FM brand. But the CHR/Top 40 format moved to 95.7 in 2004. After Kiss-FM moved, 105.5 flipped to Classic Hits as "Kool 105.5" under the WUKL call letters. On August 12, 2021, the station cluster was sold from Forever Media to the Ohio Midland Newsgroup LLC. WOMP (100.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Bellaire, Ohio, United States, it serves the Wheeling, West Virginia, area. The station is currently owned by Cody Barack through licensee Ohio Midland Newsgroup and transmits from studio facilities in Bellaire. History WTRF-FM, WTRX-FM and WOMP This station began as WTRF-FM at a time when many applicants for new AM radio stations were also issued FM licenses. WVKF (95.7 FM, "Kiss 95.7") is a radio station broadcasting a contemporary hit radio format. Licensed to Shadyside, Ohio, United States, the station serves the Wheeling, West Virginia, area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. History WVKF began its life on 105.5 as "The Zone" in 2000 under the calls of WZNW, with a similar format but without the hip-hop music that had become dominate once the banner was changed to "Kiss-FM". Once Clear Channel took over the station, its format shifted to play, in addition to the current format, the R&B and hip-hop tracks.
