WBC Beroe
The women's basketball team of Beroe is headquartered Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. The team was established in the 1980s. From 1995 - 2004 year the team was eliminated from professional basketball and instead won the Bulgarian Women's Championship. The biggest successes of WBC Beroe is winning the state championship in 1990 and 1992. During the 2016-2017 season the team reached final of the WABA League. Bulgarian Women's Basketball Championship
The Bulgarian Women's Basketball Championship is the premier league for women's basketball clubs in Bulgaria. Slavia Sofia is the championship's most successful club with 15 titles between 1953 and 2004 followed by Akademik Sofia and Levski Sofia with eight titles, Lokomotiv Sofia with seven and Minyor Pernik with six, while Neftokhimik Burgas has been the most successful team in recent years with 5 titles since 2005. The championship's leading teams were fairly successful in FIBA Europe competitions during the communist era, with Slavia Sofia and Levski Sofia winning three European Cups and two Ronchetti Cups between 1959 and 1984. Stara Zagora ( bg, Стара Загора, ) is the sixth-largest city in Bulgaria, and the administrative capital of the homonymous Stara Zagora Province. WABA League
WABA League, commonly known as the Adriatic League, is a top-level regional basketball league, featuring female teams from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia. Clubs from Austria, Turkey, Hungary and Italy had their representatives in WABA League in past seasons. Since 2012 a Cadet WABA League and since 2014 Pionir WABA League is also played. 2020–21 WABA League
The 2020–21 WABA League was the 20th season of the Adriatic League. Competition included eight teams from five countries. In this season participating clubs from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Slovenia. Vojvodina 021 informed the Board of the WABA League 23 february 2021 that due to obligations in the national championship and the Serbian Cup, it is not able to play the remaining seven games of the 2020-21 WABA League regular season. It means that Vojvodina 021 withdraws from the 2020-21 WABA League. As per the Official Basketball Rules, the games (played and unplayed) were awarded to their respective opponents with a score of 20-0. Furthermore, the forfeiting team Vojvodina 021 will receive 0 classification points in the standings. WABA League for the season 2016–17 was the sixteen season of the Adriatic League. Competition included ten teams from six countries. In this season participating clubs from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Slovenia and from Macedonia. WABA League for the season 2016–17 has begun to play October 2016. and ended in March 2017.
