Waverley Action For Youth Services
Waverley Action for Youth Services (WAYS) is a non-profit organisation based in Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The organisation provides a range of social support services for children and young people include a youth centre, children's activities, music tuition, alternative education, counselling, employment and training services. WAYS provides workshops at local schools in areas such as drugs and alcohol, resilience, peer relationships and bullying. WAYS assists at-risk teens. History WAYS was established in 1979, and has been assisting youth (ages 9–25) from Sydney's Eastern, Inner and Southern suburbs. Their services include recreation, education and training, case management, counselling, health promotion and clinical services. The World Association of Young Scientists (WAYS; formerly the World Academy of Young Scientists) is a global network of young scientists established in 2004, in partnership with UNESCO and ICSU. It provides a Web 2.0 platform for scientific exchange, thereby linking individuals and existing networks with a regional or disciplinary focus. History At the World Conference on Science in Budapest in 1999, the International Forum of Young Scientists identified a need to promote the involvement of younger generation of scientists in the dialogue between government authorities, parliaments, educational institutions and to develop national science policies taking into consideration needs, opportunities and perspectives of young researchers. WAYS (AM)
WAYS is a sports radio station in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios are located on U.S. Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and its transmitter is located in the station's city of license, Conway, South Carolina. History WAYS originally signed on February 23, 1977 as WJAL. That August, the call sign became WJXY, a call sign that stayed with the station for many years. WJXY was a daytime-only country music station in the 1970s. An FM sister station at 93.9 was added around 1990, at which time the AM switched to Southern gospel. In 1995, the format changed to adult standards, with most of the music coming from the AM Only satellite format. By this time, the station had a limited nighttime signal. WAYS (1500 AM)
WAYS (1500 AM) was a radio station serving the Macon, Georgia area with a sports radio format. This station was under ownership of Cumulus Media. History Until September 4, 2009, it was an affiliate of ABC Radio's True Oldies Channel when it was Oldies Radio 1500, with the slogan "Macon's True Oldies Channel". Because it shared the same frequency as clear-channel station WFED in Washington, D.C., it could broadcast only during daytime hours. However, their online webcast is available 24 hours a day. WFNZ (AM)
WFNZ (610 AM), known on air as "102.5 The Block", is a commercial radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina. Owned by Urban One, the station airs an urban contemporary radio format. WFNZ previously offered local sports hosts weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. On nights and weekends, it carried programming from CBS Sports Radio. WFNZ served as the flagship station for the NBA'S Charlotte Hornets and Major League Soccer's Charlotte FC. The studios and offices are located at 1 Julian Price Place, while its transmitter is located at the site of its former studios on Radio Road in the Oakdale neighborhood of Northwest Charlotte. WFNZ uses a directional antenna and transmits with 5,000 watts by day. WCCB (channel 18) is a television station in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, affiliated with The CW. It serves as the flagship station of locally based Bahakel Communications. WCCB's studios are located just outside Uptown Charlotte, off Independence Boulevard (across from Bojangles' Coliseum), and its transmitter is located in Newell, an unincorporated area of Mecklenburg County just northeast of the Charlotte city limits.
