Włodzimierz Kotoński
Włodzimierz Kotoński (23 August 1925 – 4 September 2014) was a Polish composer. Biography Born in Warsaw, Kotoński studied there with Piotr Rytel and Tadeusz Szeligowski at the PWSM, graduating in 1951. In an initial period of activity he took an interest in folk music from the Podhale region in southern Poland. After attending the Darmstädter Ferienkurse in 1957–61, he adopted Punctualism, punctual serialism in works like ''Sześć miniatur'' ('Six Miniatures') for clarinet and piano of 1957 and ''Muzyka kameralna'' ('Chamber Music') for 21 instruments and percussion in the following year. This trend culminated in 1959 in ''Musique en relief'' for six orchestral groups. His ''Etiuda na jedno uderzenie w talerz'' ('Study on One Cymbal Stroke') was the first Polish piece of electronic music, created at Polish Radio's Experimental Studio. Jarosław Kapuściński
Jarosław Kapuściński (; born December 12, 1964 in Warsaw, Poland) is a composer and pianist specializing in intermedia. He is Associate Professor of Composition at Stanford University, regularly teaching at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). In 2016-2022, Jarosław Kapuściński was the Chair of the Department of Music at Stanford. Kapuściński trained as a classical pianist and composer at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (now the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music) and first engaged in video art and animation during a residency at the Banff Centre in Canada (1988–89). He developed that area of work during doctoral studies at the University of California, San Diego (1992-1997) and as a postdoctoral student at McGill University in Montreal (2001). Hanna Kulenty
Hanna Kulenty (born March 18, 1961, in Białystok) is a Polish composer of contemporary classical music. Since 1992, she has worked and lived both in Warsaw (Poland) and in Arnhem (Netherlands). Musical education After studying piano at the Karol Szymanowski School of Music in Warsaw from 1976 to 1980, Kulenty studied composition with Włodzimierz Kotoński at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. From 1986 to 1988 she studied composition with Louis Andriessen at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 1984 and 1988 she participated in Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music. In 1983 and 1990 she was participant in the International Courses for Young Composers in Kazimierz, organised by the Polish section of the ISCM — where she attended lectures with Iannis Xenakis, Witold Lutosławski, Thomas Kessler and François-Bernard Mâche.
