Mildred Bangs Wynkoop
Mildred Olive Bangs Wynkoop (born September 9, 1905 in Seattle, Washington, died May 21, 1997 in Lenexa, Kansas) was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, who served as an educator, missionary, theologian, and the author of several books. Donald Dayton indicates that "Probably most influential for a new generation of Holiness scholars has been the work of Nazarene theologian Mildred Bangs Wynkoop, especially her book ''A Theology of Love: The Dynamic of Wesleyanism''." The Wynkoop Center for Women in Ministry located in Kansas City, Missouri is named in her honour. The Timothy L. Smith and Mildred Bangs Wynkoop Book Award of the Wesleyan Theological Society also jointly honours her "outstanding scholarly contributions." Henry Wynkoop
Henry Wynkoop (March 2, 1737March 25, 1816) was a member of the Continental Congress (from 1779) and later a United States representative for the state of Pennsylvania during the First United States Congress, 1789 to 1791. Life and career Wynkoop was born in Northampton Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Northampton Township in the Province of Pennsylvania on March 2, 1737. He inherited his father's 153 acre farm in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Newtown upon his death in 1759. He was admitted to Princeton University but he did not complete his studies as he got involved in local politics. Prior to his term as a representative, he served as a justice of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Court of Common Pleas and the orphan's court in Kingston, Pennsylvania from 1780 to 1789. Wynkoop Brewing Company
LoDo (Lower Downtown) is an unofficial neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, and is one of the oldest places of settlement in the city. It is a mixed-use historic district, known for its nightlife, and serves as an example of success in urban reinvestment and revitalization. The current population is approximately 21,145. History Prior to European exploration of the area, Native Americans, particularly the Arapaho tribe, established encampments along the South Platte River near or in what is now LoDo. In 1858, after the discovery of gold in the river, General William Larimer founded Denver by putting down cottonwood logs in the center of a square mile plot that would eventually be the current LoDo neighborhood, making LoDo both the original city of Denver, as well as its oldest neighborhood. Benjamin Wynkoop
Benjamin Wynkoop (November 5, 1673 - buried April 6, 1751) was an early American silversmith, active in New York City. Wynkoop was born in Kingston, New York and baptised by the Dominie of Kingston's Old Dutch Church on April 18, 1675. On October 21, 1697, he married Femmetje Van Der Huel in New York City, where they lived in the South Ward of Manhattan Island. He was made freeman of the city in 1698 and served as a Collector and Assessor of Taxes at various times from 1703 to 1732. His Spanish-Indian slave, London, was indicted with others in the New York Conspiracy of 1741 for conspiring to burn the city. He died in New York City. Wynkoop made much of the communion silver of the Dutch Reformed churches.
