Wylie Independent School District (Collin County, Texas)
Wylie Independent School District is a school district based in Wylie, Texas, United States and covers much of south central Collin County. Wylie ISD serves most of the city of Wylie, including the city of St. Paul, a portion of the city of Murphy, and the Collin County portion of the city of Sachse. Enrollment has grown to just over 17,000 students. The average student to teacher ratio is 17:1. In 2009, the school district was rated " recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. History In the 1890s, the town of Wylie had been served by a small school with small funding primarily by the parents of the students of the schools. Wylie East High School (commonly Wylie East or WEHS) is a public high school located in Wylie, Texas (USA). It is classified as a 6A school by the UIL and is part of the Wylie Independent School District located in south central Collin County, serving mostly residents of Wylie as well as some residents of St Paul and Sachse. In 2019, the school was rated an average of a 91.3 by the Texas Education Agency. History Wylie East High School opened for the 2007–2008 school year, serving only ninth grade students. District residents were asked to present suggestions at board meetings in late 2007 on whether to pursue multiple high schools, which the district voted in favor of in January 2008. Achieve Academy
Achieve Academy (commonly Achieve or Choice) is a public alternative school located in Wylie, Texas, United States. It is part of the Wylie Independent School District. History The DAEP and Choice programs were located at the Wylie Special Programs Center from early 2006, serving only 16 students. By mid-2009, the enrolled had increased to 26, and the Special Programs Center was renamed to Achieve Academy.
