''Wuthering Heights'' is a British television series which first aired on BBC 2 in 1967. It is an adaptation of the 1847 novel '' Wuthering Heights'' by Emily Brontë. Produced and broadcast in colour, the series had its original videotape masters wiped for reuse, although black and white film copies survived destruction and are available on DVD. Wuthering Heights
''Wuthering Heights'' is an 1847 novel by Emily Brontë, initially published under her pen name Ellis Bell. It concerns two families of the landed gentry living on the West Yorkshire moorland, moors, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and their turbulent relationships with the Earnshaws' foster son, Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights), Heathcliff. The novel was influenced by Romanticism and Gothic fiction. ''Wuthering Heights'' is now widely considered to be one of the greatest novels ever written in English, but contemporaneous reviews were polarised. It was controversial for its depictions of mental and physical cruelty, including domestic abuse, and for its challenges to Victorian morality and religious and societal values. Nelly Dean
Ellen "Nelly" Dean is a female character in Emily Brontë's 1847 novel ''Wuthering Heights.'' She is the main narrator in the book, and she provides eyewitness accounts of many of the story's central events to Mr Lockwood. Ellen Dean is called "Nelly" by most of the book's characters, though Lockwood refers to her as "Mrs Dean". Hareton Earnshaw
Hareton Earnshaw is a character in Emily Brontë's 1847 novel ''Wuthering Heights''. He is the son of Hindley Earnshaw and Hindley's wife, Frances. At the end of the novel, he makes plans to wed Catherine Linton, with whom he falls in love. Story Frances dies shortly after giving birth in June 1778 to Hareton, which results in Hindley's descent into a life of anguish and inebriety, so Hareton is cared for and nursed by Nelly Dean, the primary narrator of the story. When Nelly leaves to reside at Thrushcross Grange with Catherine Earnshaw and Edgar Linton, Heathcliff seeks revenge on Hindley and gains control of Wuthering Heights. Keith Buckley (actor)
Keith Buckley (7 April 1941 – 1 December 2020) was an English actor who mostly appeared on television and films from 1958. Career Keith Buckley was born in April 1941 in Huddersfield, West Riding of Yorkshire and performed in school plays at Huddersfield College. He had many appearances in film and television, including '' The Avengers'' and '' Randall and Hopkirk'' in the 1960s and '' The New Avengers'' in the 1970s. Personal life Between the years 1959 and 1967, Keith Buckley was married to Bella Buckley, with whom he had two daughters. Then, he was in a partnership for nineteen years with the casting director Mary Selway, with whom he also had two daughters. In later years, he lived in the USA with author Beverly Lowry before returning home to live in UK. He died in December 2020 at the age of 79. He had a variety of roles in film, television and theatre including as Red X-Wing Squadron Leader Garven Dreis in '' Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope''. Isabella Linton
Isabella Linton is a fictional character in Emily Brontë's 1847 novel ''Wuthering Heights''. She is the sister of Edgar Linton and the wife of Heathcliff. Angela Douglas
Angela Douglas (born 29 October 1940), born Angela McDonagh, is an English actress. Early life Douglas was born in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Career Douglas started acting as a teenager, joining the Worthing, West Sussex repertory company, before making her West End theatre debut in 1958. Douglas made an uncredited appearance as an audience member in the 1958 film version of Six-Five Special. She made her (non-speaking) film debut in 1959 in '' The Shakedown'', and then appeared with Tommy Steele in '' It's All Happening''.
