Wurzbach Parkway
Wurzbach Parkway is a part freeway and part major arterial road in San Antonio, Texas, built to provide relief on Interstate 410 (I-410) and Loop 1604 on the city's north side. The highway is named for Harry M. Wurzbach, who represented the San Antonio area in Congress as a Republican in the 1920s and 1930s. The congressman's name was first applied to the connecting Wurzbach Road. The highway's western third was built as an expressway with at-grade intersections and the remainder as a freeway. The opening in September 2015 of an interchange with U.S. Highway 281 (US 281) completed primary construction of the parkway. The highway, along with part of Wurzbach Road near the Ingram Park Mall, is maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation despite not carrying a state highway designation. Farm to Market Road 2696 (FM 2696) is a farm to market road in Bexar County, Texas. It is known in Greater San Antonio as Blanco Road, a major north–south thoroughfare. Route description FM 2696 begins at Interstate 410 at the western fringe of Uptown San Antonio, just east of Castle Hills. The route travels north through north central San Antonio, crossing Wurzbach Parkway and Loop 1604. It then runs along the eastern edge of the Camp Bullis Military Training Reservation. Right-in/right-out (RIRO) and left-in/left-out (LILO) refer to a type of three-way road intersection where turning movements of vehicles are restricted. A RIRO permits only right turns and a LILO permits only left turns. "Right-in" and "left-in" refer to turns from a main road ''into'' an intersection (or a driveway or parcel); "right-out" and "left-out" refer to turns ''from'' an intersection (or a driveway or parcel) to a main road. Heroes Stadium is an 11,000-seat, open style football stadium serving the public school district North East ISD in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It opened in 2009, built on the site of the abandoned Longhorn Quarry, and has 2,525 paved parking spaces. $27.5 million of funding was provided by a 2007 school district bond.
