Maung Wunna
Maung Wunna ( my, မောင် ဝဏ္ဏ, 19 January 1947 – 11 January 2011) was a two-time Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards-winning Burmese director and writer. He came from a family heavily involved in the entertainment industry—his father Thadu was a director and his brother Thu Maung was a prominent singer and actor and Min Lu was a reputed satirist. Maung Wunna died of lung cancer in 2011. Career Wunna worked from an early age as a sound engineer and film editor for his novelist and filmmaker father, Thadu. In 1970 he earned a BA in philosophy from University of Yangon. His first film as a director, '' Katipa phanat see shwe htee hsaung'', was released in 1971, and he won the National Award for Best Direction. Alongside his work as screenwriter and director, Maung Wunna published articles on film, short stories and novels. Wunna Maung Lwin ( my, ဝဏ္ဏမောင်လွင်; born 30 May 1952,) is a Burmese politician and incumbent Minister of Foreign Affairs, appointed by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing after the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. He previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from March 2011 to March 2016. He is a retired colonel in the Myanmar Army. Early life and education Wunna Maung Lwin was born in Thaton, Mon State on 30 May 1954. He graduated from the 16th intake of the Defence Services Academy in 1971.
