Wulf Barsch
Wulf Erich Barsch von Benedikt (born August 27, 1943 in Reudnitz) is an American Latter-day Saint artist and professor at Brigham Young University (BYU). Life Barsch was born in Reudnitz. While his full name is Wulf Erich Barsch von Benedikt, he uses Wulf Barsch as his professional name. He studied under Bauhaus Masters, who were themselves Master Students of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in 1966, and subsequently served a mission for the LDS Church in northern California. Barsch received a master's degree equivalent in Germany from Werkkenschule, Hanover in 1968, a Master of Arts degree from BYU in 1970, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from BYU in 1971, and then joined the faculty at BYU in 1972. Encyclopedia Of Mormonism
The ''Encyclopedia of Mormonism'' is a semi-official English-language encyclopedia for topics relevant to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church, see also "Mormon"). The five-volume texts have been digitized and are available for free online via the Harold B. Lee Library's official website. Background Published in 1992, the ''Encyclopedia'' contains nearly 1,500 articles, including several short unattributed entries in four volumes. The text is approximately one million words, and over 1,850 pages including pictures, maps, charts, index, and appendices. The title for the ''Encyclopedia of Mormonism'' was chosen by Macmillan, the secular publisher that initiated the project. The set was originally expected to be priced at $240 ($ in ), but has since been digitized and made available for free. Religious conversion is the adoption of a set of beliefs identified with one particular religious denomination to the exclusion of others.
