Wrong Road Again
"Wrong Road Again" is a song written by Allen Reynolds, and recorded by American country music artist Crystal Gayle. It was released in September 1974 as the first single from the album '' Crystal Gayle''. In the mid-1970s, country music was making its move into pop music by artists such as Lynn Anderson and Eddie Rabbitt. The song "Wrong Road Again" is a set example of this. Even though the song never crossed over into the pop charts, the instruments used in the sessions were not instruments normally used in country music. Crystal Gayle at the time was working to set a name for herself in the music business. "Wrong Road Again" became the song to help jumpstart her career as a country singer. Crystal Gayle
Crystal Gayle (born Brenda Gail Webb; January 9, 1951) is an American country music singer widely known for her 1977 hit "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". Initially, Gayle's management and record label were the same as that of her oldest sister, Loretta Lynn. Not finding success with the arrangement after several years, and with Lynn's encouragement, Gayle decided to try a different approach. She signed a new record contract and began recording with Nashville producer Allen Reynolds. Gayle's new sound was sometimes referred to as middle-of-the-road (MOR) or country pop, and was part of a bigger musical trend by many country artists of the 1970s to appeal to a wider audience. ''Dreamin' My Dreams'' is the sixth studio album by English singer Marianne Faithfull. It was released in 1976 by NEMS Records and it is Faithfull's first and only record of country music. The album was re-released two years later in 1978 as ''Faithless''. The main differences between the two albums are: the album art and ''Faithless'' including four more tracks and some tracks rearranged. Waylon Jennings
Waylon Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He pioneered the Outlaw Movement in country music. Jennings started playing guitar at the age of eight and performed at age fourteen on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and worked as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix. In 1958, Buddy Holly arranged Jennings's first recording session, and hired him to play bass. Jennings gave up his seat on the ill-fated flight in 1959 that crashed and killed Holly, J. P. ''Crystal Gayle'' is the debut studio album by the American country music artist of the same name, although she had previously recorded material which was not released until later. It was released on February 7, 1975. The album peaked at #25 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and included three charting Hot Country Singles: "Wrong Road Again" at #6, "Beyond You" at #27, and "This Is My Year for Mexico" at #21.
