Worteh Sampson
Worteh Sampson (born 25 June 1981 in Monrovia, Liberia) is a Liberian soccer coach who is currently the head coach of the University of MichiganβDearborn men's soccer team. College In 2001, Sampson received a scholarship to play at Schoolcraft College in Michigan before receiving another 2-year grant to play at Madonna University in Michigan beginning in 2003. He "was named to the All-Conference First Team twice, while also being named the Conference Player of the Year in 2003." He graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. Professional Sampson began his career in 2006 with Windsor Border Stars of the Canadian Soccer League. He recorded his first goal for the club on September 9, 2006, in a match against London City. He scored his second goal the following match against Caribbean Selects. He helped Windsor clinch a postseason berth by finishing third in the National Division. Caribbean Stars Soccer Club was a professional soccer club in the Greater Toronto Arena, Canada, which evolved to a news and sports website. Its inception was in 1995 as a founding member of the Canadian International Soccer League (CISL). In 2006, Caribbean Stars returned to the professional scene with the launching of the Caribbean Selects franchise which competed in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL). In April 2006, Greg Bibb, president of Hantz Group Sports and Entertainment, introduced the teams as a new Major Indoor Soccer League expansion team. They played at the Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth Township, Michigan. Their first season was 2006β07 MISL season. After the 2007β08 MISL season, the league folded. The Baltimore Blast is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The team is a part of the Major Arena Soccer League. Xtreme Soccer League
The Xtreme Soccer League (XSL) was an indoor soccer league that began play in December 2008. Four teams from the former Major Indoor Soccer League participated in the first XSL season: the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave, and New Jersey Ironmen. Other former MISL teams joined the National Indoor Soccer League or Professional Arena Soccer League. The XSL officially launched on 16 September 2008, with a press conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Brian Loftin was the XSL's commissioner. Each team played a 20-game schedule beginning in December and ending in late March. There were no playoffs. On 3 December 2008, the XSL announced that Brine would supply the Triumph X 600 as the official match ball. Citing economic trouble, the XSL folded in July 2009.
