Worlds Apart (Blackjack Album)
''Worlds Apart'' is the second and final album of the American rock band Blackjack. The album was met with nearly total indifference, sold poorly and Blackjack disbanded shortly after its release. The album contains the song "Welcome to the World", which opens with a live audio recording clip of a baby birth. A YouTube user by the name of Chris Cassone, engineer for Blackjack's band manager Phil Lorito, wrote on YouTube that the audio clip was of the birth of his son. Cassone made the recording (March 29, 1980) of his first wife, Dale Weigel Cassone, in White Plains Hospital during the delivery. Phil Lorito and members of Blackjack frequented nearby North Lake Sound Studios where Chris was chief engineer. Chris played the newly recorded tape at a recording session visited by Blackjack and they loved it. Casey Cassone, the boy born on the recording, received album liner credit from the band. ''Worlds Apart'' is a 7" vinyl EP by the Australian indie group The Go-Betweens, released on 7 November 2005 on LO-MAX Records in the UK only. It contains a collaboration with Sushil K. Dade (alternatively known as Future Pilot A.K.A.), "The City of Lights", which was included on his 2006 album, ''Secrets of the Clockhouse''. "The City of Lights" was recorded in Glasgow in 2005 with Dade producing. ''Worlds Apart'' is the fourth studio album by the Canadian neo-progressive rock band Saga and was originally released in 1981. The album was produced by Rupert Hine, and has been released with several different covers. Frontman Michael Sadler stated in the band's video DVD ''Silhouette'' (2002) that Hine told him to stop "singing like a choir boy". Sadler's vocal style was noticeably different on ''Worlds Apart'' than on the first three Saga albums; he kept that style in successive performances with the band. Hine reportedly had Sadler climb to the roof of the English barn where the band was recording in order to get the proper emotion from Sadler for "On the Loose". Success Widely considered Saga's best album (and certainly their most commercially successful), the album has become the band's most recognizable work to date.
