''Intellivision World Series Major League Baseball'' is a baseball video game (1983) designed by Don Daglow and Eddie Dombrower, and published by Mattel for the Intellivision Entertainment Computer System. ''IWSB'' was one of the first sports video games to use multiple camera angles and present a three-dimensional (as opposed to two-dimensional) perspective. ''Sega Sports' World Series Baseball'', or simply ''World Series Baseball'', is a sports game developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega for the Genesis/Mega Drive and Game Gear. It is the first game in the series and was originally released in 1994. A version for the Sega 32X, ''World Series Baseball '95'', would follow in 1995. The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States and Canada, contested since 1903 between the champion teams of the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). The winner of the World Series championship is determined through a best-of-seven playoff, and the winning team is awarded the Commissioner's Trophy. Prior to the AL and NL being split into divisions in 1969, the team with the best regular-season win–loss record in each league automatically clinched its league's pennant and advanced to the World Series, barring the rare tie necessitating a pennant playoff.
