World Qualification Event
The World Qualification Event was an annual curling tournament first held in 2019 by the World Curling Federation. Eight men's and women's teams who had not already qualified for the World Curling Championships competed for the final two spots in the championships. The event was discontinued for the 2022–23 season with the creation of the new Pan Continental Curling Championships. Han Peng (born October 13, 1996) is a Chinese curler from Changchun, China. He is currently the alternate on the Chinese National Men's Curling Team skipped by Zou Qiang. Career Han became the alternate on the Chinese National Men's Curling Team for the 2019–20 season. The team represented China at the 2019 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, where they won the bronze medal. This qualified them for the 2020 World Qualification Event, which they won, earning them a spot at the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship. Zou Qiang
Zou Qiang (; born 13 August 1991 in Yichun) is a Chinese curler from Harbin. Career Juniors Zou skipped the Chinese team (which also consisted of Shao Zhilin, Zhang Tianyu and Liang Shuming), at the 2013 Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships to a gold medal. The team went 7-1 after the double round robin portion of the tournament, which put them in first place, and a bye to the final, where they faced off against South Korea. They defeated the Koreans (skipped by Kim Jeong-min) 7-5 in the final. Men's Zou joined the Zang Jialiang team as lead in 2014 for one competitive season. 2020 World Qualification Event
The 2020 World Qualification Event for the World Curling Championships was held from January 13 to 18 at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland. The competition consisted of sixteen teams divided evenly into men's and women's divisions. The top two teams in the men's division qualified to compete at the 2020 World Men's Championship and similarly the top two teams in the women's division qualified to compete at the 2020 World Women's Championship. China and Russia qualified in the men's division and South Korea and Italy qualified in the women's division. Naseby, New Zealand
Naseby is a small town, formerly a borough, in the Maniototo area of Central Otago, New Zealand. It is named after a village in Northamptonshire, England. Previous names of the township were Parker's, Hogburn and Mt Ida. The town catch phrase is "2000 feet above worry level" indicating its altitude. Naseby is 395 km (5 hours drive) from Christchurch and 143 km (1 hour 45 minutes drive) from Dunedin.
