World Poker Tour Champions Club
The World Poker Tour (WPT) has operated a series of international poker tournaments since 2002 with winners of WPT Main Tour stops awarded a membership to the WPT Champions Club. The WPT Champions Cup is the trophy awarded to all winners of WPT Main Tour stops, and champions have their names engraved on the WPT Champions Cup. On July 21, 2020, the WPT Champions Cup was renamed to the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup in honor of WPT commentator and WPT Champions Club member Mike Sexton. Sexton would unfortunately pass away on September 6, 2020, after battling prostate cancer. Poker is a family of comparing card games in which players wager over which hand is best according to that specific game's rules. It is played worldwide, however in some places the rules may vary. Layne Flack
Layne Flack (May 18, 1969 – July 19, 2021) was an American professional poker player from Rapid City, South Dakota, residing in Montana and Nevada. Poker career Flack started playing cards with his grandparents, but became engrossed in the game while working at a casino. He would regularly go to another casino after work to play poker. Despite becoming the Night Manager in his job, he quit as he was spending too much time on poker to continue working full-time as well. He met up with Johnny Chan who helped him improve his game and, following a big loss, encouraged Flack to ensure he had a lot of rest before a tournament. Ted Forrest then took him under his wing, eventually playing in the biggest games in the world. Flack had lifetime live tournament play winnings of over $5,000,000. Kirill Gerasimov
Kirill Gerasimov (russian: Кирилл Герасимов, born June 5, 1971 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional poker player. Personal life Gerasimov worked as an insurance salesman in Moscow, and started entering poker tournaments throughout Europe in 2001. Gerasimov was mentored in poker by professional Marcel Lüske. Gerasimov himself went on to mentor former tennis professional Yevgeny Kafelnikov in poker as well as Mikhail Lakhitov. Alan Goehring
Alan Goehring (born February 21, 1962) is an American retired junk bond analyst and trader from Henderson, Nevada. At the age of 37, he became a professional poker player. Goehring first made his mark on the poker circuit when he finished in 3rd place in the $3,000 No Limit Hold-Em event at the 1997 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He won $61,845 in the tournament, which was won by Max Stern and also featured Kathy Liebert, Chris Ferguson, Donnacha O'Dea, and Dan Harrington. In 1999, Goehring finished 2nd in the WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold-Em Main Event to Noel Furlong. He won $768,625 for his efforts. Ron Rose
Ronald Morris Rose (September 4, 1944 – October 24, 2019) was an American poker player from Dayton, Ohio, and a two time World Poker Tour (WPT) Champion with a World Series of Poker bracelet. Early life and career Rose was born in Vancouver, Washington. Prior to getting involved in the poker tournament circuit, Rose was a mathematician and project engineer in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1975, and later became an entrepreneur. He also held a seat on the American Stock Exchange and owned his own commodities firm. Charles McRae "Chip" Jett (born September 22, 1974 in Scottsdale, Arizona) is an American professional poker player from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is one of the most popular players on the World Poker Tour. Jett has been known as "Chip" ever since he left the hospital when he was born. The nickname was suggested by a nurse to Jett's parents. Lars Christer Johansson (born 30 July 1970 in Stockholm) is a Swedish professional sports bettor and poker player, based in Malmö. Johansson started by playing draw poker with his family, but now concentrates on texas hold 'em.
