World Match Racing Tour
The World Match Racing Tour (or WMRT) is, since 2000, an annual series of professional sailing match race events held in multiple countries. Since 2006, the winner of the WMRT series has been named the Match Racing World Champion. Throughout the course of the Tour, participating teams compete in various boats, with each event featuring identical boat models. Teams regularly switch boats during the competition, emphasizing the importance of the sailors' skill and strategic abilities. Phil Robertson (born 1987) is a New Zealand sailor. He is best known for his role as driver of the Canada SailGP Team in seasons 3 and 4 of SailGP after a successful season as driver of developing teams China SailGP Team in 2019 and Spain SailGP Team in 2021. Taylor Canfield (born February 5, 1989) is a United States Virgin Islands sailor competing in match racing. As of November 29, 2023, he is the driver of the United States SailGP Team following the sale of the team. Team Origin was Great Britain's bid to compete in the 33rd and 34th America's Cups. It was launched in January 2007 but stopped running the racing team in 2010. The syndicate was founded by Sir Keith Mills, also known for being the deputy chairman for the organizing committee of the London 2012 Olympic bid. Sir Charles Benedict Ainslie (born 5 February 1977) is a British sailing (sport), competitive sailor. Ainslie is the most successful sailor in Olympic history. He won medals at five consecutive Olympics from 1996 onwards, including gold at four consecutive Games from 2000 to 2012.
