World Junior Pairs Championship

The World Junior Pairs Championship is a bridge competition organized by the World Bridge Federation. It was inaugurated 1995 in Ghent, Belgium, when it incorporated the ''European Junior Pairs Championship'' inaugurated 1991. Officially the Juniors and Youngsters Pairs Championships (jointly, Youth Pairs) are biennial in odd years, although there are parallel contests in some even years. Junior Pairs is open to players who are "under 26" years old at the end of the calendar year (u-26, U26). So they may celebrate their 25th birthdays during the year; Junior competition during calendar 2011 is restricted to players born 1986 and later. World Bridge Federation
The World Bridge Federation (WBF) is the international governing body of contract bridge. The WBF is responsible for world championship competitions, most of which are conducted at a few multi-event meets on a four-year cycle. The most prestigious championships are those for national teams in Open, Women, and Seniors categories: the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup, and Senior Bowl (jointly the biennial "World Teams Championships"), and the quadrennial World Team Olympiads, incorporated in the World Mind Sports Games beginning 2008. The World Bridge Federation was founded August 1958 by delegates from Europe, North America, and South America (now Zones 1 to 3). It is incorporated under the laws of Switzerland as a 'non-profit' organization. Harold Stirling Vanderbilt was made the first honorary member of the WBF for his work developing the game. Piešťany
Piešťany (; german: Pistyan, hu, Pöstyén, pl, Pieszczany , cs, Píšťany ) is a town in Slovakia. It is located in the western part of the country within the Trnava Region and is the seat of its own district. It is the biggest and best known spa town in Slovakia and has around 28,000 inhabitants. Etymology The name Piešťany comes from Slovak ''Piesok'' (sand), referring to local sandbanks. Schmitten im Taunus (until 25 August 2021 ''Schmitten'') is a municipality in the Hochtaunuskreis in Hessen, Germany. Geography Schmitten is the highest community in the Taunus, approximately 24km north of Frankfurt am Main, within which is the ''Großer Feldberg'' (881m). Marion Michielsen
Marion Susanne Michielsen (born 2 August 1985) is a Dutch-Swedish professional bridge player. At the annual World Bridge Federation (WBF) meet in October 2014, she played on teams that won two world championships. Thus she became a World Women Grand Master. In the European Bridge League championships of both 2004 and 2005, she played on both the under-21 (Schools) and the under-26 women (Girls) Dutch teams. In world championship competition, Michielsen was a member of two 6-person teams that won quadrennial tournaments at Sanya, China in October 2014, namely the World Mixed Teams Championship (teams of male–female pairs) and the McConnell Cup (women teams). She played in partnerships with Zia Mahmood and Meike Wortel respectively. In 2013, she has relocated to Sweden and now aims to represent Sweden in the Bermuda Bowl.
