The World Boxing Federation (WBF) is an organization which sanctions professional boxing bouts. It was created in 1988. The original concept for the WBF was written on the back of a napkin as an alternative for boxing as Carrier felt there was a lack of vision in boxing. The WBF wanted to give overlooked fighters a chance and wanted to be a more affordable sanctioning body for aspiring promoters by only charging a $5,000 sanctioning fee. The WBF also sought to promote itself in an honest manner and help the sport. Charles Manyuchi
Charles Manyuchi (born 19 November 1989) is a Zimbabwean professional boxer who briefly held the WBC Silver welterweight title. Manyuchi made his professional debut in 2009, and won the ABU welterweight title in 2013. In 2014, he won the WBC International welterweight title against Patrick Allotey. He successfully defended his WBC crown in Lusaka against Devis Caceres. He was awarded the Zimbabwe's Sports Person of the Year accolade in 2014. He made another successful defense of the WBC International belt against Gianluca Frezza, in the latter's native Italy. Michael Shawn Bernardo (28 July 1969 – 14 February 2012) was a South African kickboxer and boxer from Cape Town. Bertram Cooper (January 10, 1966 – May 10, 2019), nicknamed Smokin' Bert Cooper, was an American professional boxer who competed between 1984 and 2012. Ivanson Ranny "Johnny" Nelson (born 4 January 1967) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1986 to 2005, and has since worked as a boxing analyst. Francois "Frans" Botha (born 28 September 1968) is a South African former professional boxer and kickboxer. He competed in boxing from 1990 to 2014, and is perhaps best known for winning the IBF heavyweight title against Axel Schulz in 1995, but was later stripped after failing a drug test.
