Wooster Lake is a lake in Lake County, Illinois, United States. It is located near Illinois Route 134 and Wilson Road, predominantly in unincorporated Ingleside, northeast of the Village of Volo, northwest of the Village of Round Lake, and southeast of the Village of Fox Lake. Ingleside is an unincorporated community in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Ingleside is between Fox Lake, Round Lake Heights, and Lake Villa. Geography Ingleside is on Squaw Creek between Long Lake, Duck Lake, and Fox Lake. Ingleside lies below the Long Lake Dam and above Fox Lake. Duck Lake and most of the Long Lake area are part of Ingleside. Ingleside also goes northeast to Lake Villa. Fox Lake is a village in Grant and Antioch townships in Lake County, Illinois and Burton Township, McHenry County, Illinois, United States. The population was 10,978 at the 2020 census. It is located approximately 57 miles north of Chicago. History The village was incorporated on December 15, 1906, and certified by the state on April 13, 1907. Spirit Fruit Society
The Spirit Fruit Society was a communitarian group in the United States that was organized after a period of repeated business depressions during the 1890s. The society had its beginnings in Lisbon, Ohio, and over the years of its existence moved to Ingleside, Illinois, and finally to California. Plagued by rumor, suspicion, and attacks in the press during its early years, the group remained active until 1930. Although it never numbered more than a handful of adherents, the Spirit Fruit Society existed longer and more successfully than any other American utopian group. The name is derived from the group's belief that mankind's spiritual state is that of a bud or blossom on a plant and that man's soul has not yet developed into a fruit from a blossom.
