Woon Tai Ho
Woon Tai Ho () (born 26 July 1958), is a TV producer, art collector and writer. He is the founder of Channel NewsAsia. Early life Woon grew up in Geylang, where he would organise 20-cent magic lantern shows for the neighbourhood with his twin brother, former MediaCorp Raintree Pictures CEO and Homerun Asia founder Daniel Yun. His father, a chef, died when he was in secondary school, and his mother tried various ways to care for her two sons and two daughters, including running a food stall. Woon attended Telok Kurau Secondary School and Hwa Chong Junior College on scholarships, and graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science in 1982. In his youth, Woon was an aspiring painter who sold a work when he was 16 years old. Tan Swie Hian
Tan Swie Hian () is a Singaporean multidisciplinary artist known for his contemporary Chinese calligraphy, Chinese poetry and contemporary art sculptures found in Singapore and many parts of the world. Early life Born in Indonesia, Tan migrated to Singapore circa 1946. He grew up with a fluency in Chinese and Malay, and went on to study English and French at Nanyang University. He began his career as a press attaché for the French Embassy in Singapore, after graduating with a degree in English literature from the university. Lim Tze Peng
Lim Tze Peng (, born 28 September 1921) is a Singaporean artist who is a teacher by training and profession. He was awarded a Cultural Medallion in 2003 in recognition of his contribution to the country's art and culture. In June 2021, it was reported that he was still producing art at the age of 99. Biography Lim was born in 1921 to a family of pig and chicken farmers in Pasir Ris. He is the eldest of seven children. Lim studied at Guangyang Primary School and Chung Cheng High School. In 1949, Lim became a primary school teacher at Xin Min School and then became principal in 1951. He remained as principal till he retired in 1981. Painting career Lim started to learn to paint in his twenties and after his retirement, started to paint professionally. Keith Haring
Keith Allen Haring (May 4, 1958 – February 16, 1990) was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. His animated imagery has "become a widely recognized visual language". Much of his work includes sexual allusions that turned into social activism by using the images to advocate for safe sex and AIDS awareness.
