Woolsey Bridge (NRHP listed as Washington County Road 35 Bridge) was a truss bridge built in 1925, formerly located near West Fork, Arkansas. It carried County Route 35 over the West Fork of the White River for . It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History The bridge is historic as the only surviving bridge in the area built in the camelback style. Engineered in a distinct way, the camelback truss is uncommon and this well-preserved example was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 9, 2000. Brown Bluff (3WA10)
Brown Bluff is a rock art site in Washington County, Arkansas. The site consists of a prepared panel of sandstone extending some , on which have been painted pictographs in red. The site has been estimated to date to the Mississippian period, c. AD 1100–1600. The artwork is reminiscent of artwork found in the Arkansas River valley, and is one of the few places such artwork has been found in the western Ozark Mountains. Winslow (formerly Summit Home) is a city in southern Washington County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 391 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Northwest Arkansas region. History A stagecoach stop for many years, the community now known as Winslow first received a post office on December 11, 1876, known as Summit Home. The town grew significantly upon completion of the Winslow Tunnel, which allowed the St. Louis – San Francisco Railway (Frisco) to run through the steep Boston Mountains of south Washington County. The town was renamed to Winslow on August 3, 1881 in honor of Edward F. Winslow, president of the Frisco Railroad. The town became a somewhat resort town for its picturesque peaks at the end of the 19th century, drawing many wealthy from the Fort Smith area to summer there.
