Woody Island, also called Yongxing Island () by China and Taiwan and đảo Phú Lâm by Vietnam, is the largest of the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea (SCS), with an area of . As of 2014, it has a population of almost 1,500, with roads, banks and an air strip. The Paracel Islands are a group of islands, reefs, banks and atolls in the northwestern part of the South China Sea. Woody Island is part of the Amphitrite Group in the eastern Paracels and is approximately equidistant from Hainan and the Vietnam coast. The island has been under the control of the People's Republic of China (PRC) since 1956. It is administered by Sansha, a town located on the island. Mid Woody Islet
Mid Woody Islet is a small island, with an area of 0.66 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of Tasmania’s Tin Kettle Island Group, lying in eastern Bass Strait between Flinders and Cape Barren Islands in the Furneaux Group. The island is joined at low tide to nearby Anderson, Little Anderson and Tin Kettle Islands by extensive intertidal mudflats. The island is part of the Franklin Sound Islands Important Bird Area, identified as such by BirdLife International because it holds over 1% of the world populations of six bird species. The Woody Island Lighthouses are a pair of heritage-listed lighthouses at Big Woody Island in the Great Sandy Strait, Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast Region, Queensland, Australia.
