Woodvale, Western Australia
Woodvale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo. At the 2016 census Woodvale had a population of 9,276. Woodvale is bounded to the south by Whitfords Avenue, to the west by the Mitchell Freeway, to the north by Ocean Reef Road and to the east by Wanneroo Road. Trappers Drive runs through Woodvale, from Whitfords Avenue to Ocean Reef Road. The area within and around Woodvale was primarily rural until the late 1970s. Residential development began in 1979 and was completed by 1995 with the release of the Woodvale Waters housing estate. No farming properties remain in Woodvale. Many immigrants have settled in Woodvale, with 21.2% of residents born in the British Isles and 3.1% born in South Africa, in both cases twice the Western Australian average and four times the Australian average. Ocean Reef Road is an arterial east-west road in Perth, Western Australia. It is located within the northern suburbs of Perth, from Ocean Reef in the west, to Landsdale in the east, with a portion travelling northwards along the coast to Iluka. Woodvale Secondary College
Woodvale Secondary College, formerly Woodvale Senior High School, is an independent public school, located in Woodvale, a suburb north of Perth, Western Australia. Opened in 1985, the school's catchment area covers parts of the City of Joondalup and the adjacent eastern portion of the City of Wanneroo. The school has an enrolment of 1,409 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school encompasses the middle socio-economic range suburbs of Kingsley and Woodvale and is defined by the boundaries formed by Wanneroo Road and the Mitchell Freeway in an east–west alignment and Ocean Reef Road to the north. Edgewater Railway Station
Edgewater railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network. It is located on the Joondalup line, 23 kilometres from Perth station serving the suburb of Edgewater. History Edgewater station opened on 20 December 1992 in the median strip of the Mitchell Freeway. In 2003, the contract for extending the platforms on seven Joondalup line stations, including Edgewater station, was awarded to Lakis Constructions. The platforms on these stations had to be extended by to accommodate long six car trains, which were planned to enter service. Along with the extensions, the platform edges were upgraded to bring them into line with tactile paving standards. Edgewater was the second station to begin being extended, with work commencing in December 2003. Work at this station was completed by April 2004. In 2010, a new canopy replaced the original. Yellagonga Wetlands
The Wanneroo wetlands are a series of wetlands, swamps and lakes that occur on the Swan Coastal Plain of Perth, Western Australia. They are linked very closely to the Gnangara Mound. Whitfords Railway Station
Whitfords railway station is a railway station located on the boundary of Padbury and Kingsley, suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Joondalup railway line, which is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It is located in the median of the Mitchell Freeway, and consists of an elevated bus interchange on top of an island platform at ground level. South of Whitfords, trains run every 5 minutes during peak. North of Whitfords, trains run every 10 minutes during peak. Between peak during the day, trains run every 15 minutes.
