Woodside High School is a public high school in Woodside, California, United States, on the border with Redwood City. It is part of the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD). Woodside serves students from the surrounding communities of Portola Valley, Woodside and Redwood City. It shares a name to another school called Woodside High School in England. Athletics The school's football team won the California Interscholastic Federation's Central Coast Section title in 2004. More recently, the school's girls' soccer team won the California Interscholastic Federation's Central Coast Section title in 2011 in a 0–0 tie with Santa Teresa High School. Sean David Morton is a self-described psychic, ufologist and alleged remote viewer who has referred to himself as "America's Prophet." Until legal troubles led to his incarceration in a federal prison, he also hosted radio shows, authored books, and made documentary films about the paranormal. Lars Lyssand
Lars Lyssand is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the USL First Division. Born to a Norwegian immigrant father and a Swedish immigrant mother, Lyssand grew up in Northern California. He graduated from Woodside High School where he was a three-sport athlete – soccer, football and baseball. Lyssand attended San Jose State University, playing on the men’s soccer team from 1998 to 2001, and was the 2001 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year. The 1975 NBA draft was the 29th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on May 29, 1975, before the 1975–76 season. Richard Ryland Kelley (born March 23, 1953) is an American retired basketball player. Kelley played college basketball at Stanford University and was the first round pick (7th pick overall) of the New Orleans Jazz in the 1975 NBA draft. Kelley played eleven NBA seasons. College career A center/power forward, a graduate of Woodside High School, Kelley played college basketball for Stanford. The 7-foot, 235-pound Kelley was drafted as an underclassman in the second round of the 1974 American Basketball Association ABA draft by the New York Nets, but he opted to stay in college for another year. Azteca (band)
Azteca was a Latin rock band formed in 1972 by Coke Escovedo and his brother Pete Escovedo, who had just finished stints with Latin rock pioneering band Santana. Wendy Haas
Wendy Haas-Mull (born c. 1949) is an American vocalist and keyboardist best known for her work with the bands Santana and Azteca. Biography Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Wendy Haas began her musical career in her mid-teens, playing bass, keyboards and singing. Haas attended Woodside High School in Woodside, California. She was in a high school band in 1966 called The Freudian Slips, and by 1967 the band was playing at The Fillmore. She worked with a number of local groups, eventually meeting original Santana drummer Michael Shrieve. Shrieve brought her to the attention of Carlos Santana, and Haas subsequently provided piano tracks for the Santana recording ''Caravanserai'' (1972) and vocals on the album ''Welcome'' (1973).
