Woodleigh Replicas was a park of miniatures situated in the rural community of Burlington outside Kensington, Prince Edward Island Kensington is a Canadian town located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. In 2021 the property was purchased and the new owners began a restoration of the main structure, the Tower of London, as well as Dunvegan Castle. Though no longer intended as a tourist attraction, they are expected to be used for private rentals and events under the brand name Woodleigh Castles. Kensington is a Canadian town located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. It is northeast of the city of Summerside. In 2021, its population was 1,812. History The area was first known as Five Lanes End, as roads from five different communities converged at the point. It was renamed Barrett's Cross in 1824 after an early settler who established an inn in the area. In 1862, the town was renamed after Kensington Palace in London and it became a town after the Prince Edward Island Railway's mainline from Charlottetown to Summerside curved through the community. The town's former railyards are now rehabilitated as a tourist venue, with the former Kensington Railway Station designed by architect Charles Benjamin Chappell designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1976. Archibald Johnstone
Archibald Hynd (Archie) Johnstone (June 12, 1924 – November 8, 2014) was a Canadian businessman and retired Senator. Born in Burlington, Prince Edward Island, he was a crew member with the Royal Canadian Air Force heavy bombing squadron during World War II. He worked with his father to develop Woodleigh Replicas in Burlington and was president of the Prince Edward Island Federation of Agriculture and director of the Island Tourism Association. In March 1998, he was summoned to the Senate on the recommendation of Jean Chrétien and represented the senatorial division of Prince Edward Island.
