Woodlands Regional Library
The Woodlands Regional Library (WRL; Chinese: 兀兰区域图书馆; ms, Perpustakaan Wilayah Woodlands) is a regional public library in Woodlands in the North Region of Singapore. It is located within the premises of the Woodlands Civic Centre, near Causeway Point, Woodlands Bus Interchange and Woodlands MRT station. The library has a floor space of 11,100 square metres and currently has 540,000 items in its collection. History Woodlands Regional Library was officially opened on 28 April 2001 by Dr Tony Tan Kheng Yam, then-Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Minister for Defence and MP, Sembawang GRC (who later became Singapore's 7th President). Tony Tan
Tony Tan Keng Yam (; born 7 February 1940) is a Singaporean former politician who served as the seventh president of Singapore between 2011 and 2017. He did not seek for a second term as president in 2017 due to a constitutional amendment. Prior to entering politics, Tan was a general manager at OCBC Bank. The National Library Board (NLB) is a statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Information of the government of Singapore. Woodlands MRT Station
Woodlands MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines in Singapore. Located in Woodlands, the MRT station was the first to feature an underground bus interchange underneath the NSL station. The station is also integrated with surrounding developments, including Causeway Point and the Woodlands Civic Centre. The NSL station was first announced in November 1991 as part of the Woodlands MRT extension. Woodlands Bus Interchange (formerly Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange) is a bus interchange in Singapore. Located at Woodlands, the interchange is linked to Woodlands MRT station and adjacent to Causeway Point shopping mall. It is the largest and among the busiest bus interchange in Singapore. The interchange is also known as Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub.
