Woodfield is a census-designated place (CDP) in Richland County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 9,303 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Woodfield is located at . According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.36%, is water. Demographics 2020 census As of the 2020 United States census, there were 9,199 people, 3,764 households, and 2,201 families residing in the CDP. 2000 census As of the census of 2000, there were 9,238 people, 3,621 households, and 2,429 families residing in the CDP. Woodfield Mall is a shopping mall located in the northwest Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois, United States, at the intersection of Golf Road and Interstate 290. The mall is the largest shopping mall in the state of Illinois, the second largest being Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook. It is also one of the largest shopping malls in the United States. The mall is located approximately 27 miles from the Chicago Loop and attracts more than 27 million visitors each year. Charmian Catherine Woodfield (née Phillips; 1929–2014) was a British archaeologist. Career Charmian started worked for the Ministry of Works as a field archaeologist. She excavated many sites, including Verulamium (St Albans) with Sheppard Frere and Whitefriars, Coventry. Her publication record included excavation reports and monographs, specialist pottery reports, and reports of other finds, mainly focused on sites around Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, and the Midlands. Following her death, archaeologist David Breeze commented that Charmian had "set a new standard" for the level of reporting and recording of Hadrian's Wall after her 1965 publication of six excavations of Turrets in that region. Sir Philip John Woodfield, (10 August 1923 – 17 September 2000) was a British civil servant. Life and career Woodfield was born in Dulwich, south-east London, and attended Alleyn's School, Dulwich. He was commissioned in the Royal Artillery in 1942, rising to become a captain before leaving the Army in 1947. He read English at King's College London. He then joined the Home Office in 1950 and became Assistant Private Secretary to the Secretary of State, Viscount Kilmuir. Randall Brent Woodfield (born December 26, 1950) is an American serial killer, serial rapist, kidnapper, robber, and burglar who was dubbed the I-5 Killer or the I-5 Bandit by the media due to the crimes he committed along the Interstate 5 corridor running through Washington, Oregon, and California. Before his capture, the I-5 Killer was suspected of multiple sexual assaults and murders. Though convicted in only one murder, he has been linked to a total of 18, and is suspected of having killed up to 44 people. A native of Oregon, Woodfield was the third child of a prominent Newport family.
