Wonderland (2003 Film)
''Wonderland'' is a 2003 American crime drama film, co-written and directed by James Cox and based on the real-life Wonderland Murders that occurred in 1981. The film stars Val Kilmer, Kate Bosworth, Dylan McDermott, Carrie Fisher, Lisa Kudrow, Josh Lucas, Christina Applegate, Tim Blake Nelson, and Janeane Garofalo. Kilmer plays the role of John Holmes, a famous pornographic film star and suspected accomplice in four grisly murders committed in a house at 8763 Wonderland Avenue, in the Laurel Canyon section of Los Angeles. James Cox (director)
James Cox (born February 5, 1975) is an American film director. His short film ''Atomic Tabasco'' (which he made while a student at New York University) received an honorable mention at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival and a Bronze Medal at the 1999 Student Academy Awards. Cox then directed ''Highway'' in 2002 and '' Wonderland'' in 2003. In 2013, his film '' Straight A's'', starring Anna Paquin, Ryan Phillippe and Luke Wilson, received a theatrical release in the Netherlands. Cox has also directed music videos for Rise Against's "Give It All" and t.A.T.u.'s " All About Us", " White Robe" and " Friend or Foe". In 2015, it was announced that Cox would be directing Taron Egerton, starring opposite Ansel Elgort and Kevin Spacey in a remake of ''Billionaire Boys Club''. Eddie Nash (April 3, 1929 – August 9, 2014) was an American nightclub owner and restaurateur in Los Angeles, as well as a convicted money launderer and drug dealer. The Wonderland Gang was a group of drug dealers involved in the Los Angeles cocaine trade during the late 1970s and early 1980s; their home base was located on Wonderland Avenue in the Laurel Canyon section of Los Angeles, California.
