Women In The Bangladesh Army
The Bangladesh Army has had women in the officer ranks since it's inception in 1971, though women could join as doctors only. Women were not allowed to join as ordinary soldiers till 2010s decade. In 2013, it was announced in newspapers through recruitment advertisement that women would be recruited as ordinary soldiers in the Army's Medical Corps. In 2015, the country got trained female soldiers for the first time. On the other hand, women can be commissioned in various arms and services of the army since the early 2000s decade. Now women can become both soldiers and officers in every corps of the Bangladesh Army except the infantry, artillery and armored corps though women are commissioned in the artillery. Recent history of changes in women's roles includes having women in the military in many countries. Although most countries in the world permit the participation of women in the military, in one form or another, in 2018, only two countries conscripted women and men on the same formal conditions: Norway and Sweden. An X mark (also known as an ex mark or a cross mark or simply an X or ex or a cross) is used to indicate the concept of negation (for example "no, this has not been verified", "no, that is not the correct answer" or "no, I do not agree") as well as an indicator (for example, in election ballot papers or in maps as an x-marks-the-spot).
